Recently, over at least a few days before/after the holidays, some buttons were not being seen or recorded by the MEG. Luckily, it seems no task were seriously affected, in particular both index finger buttons still worked. Also, when the Datapixx Digital Out → MEG Digital In was not used (e.g. no pixel mode), pressing a button would flicker in this port as well as Parallel Port 1 (where it is expected).
After reconnecting everything, it’s working normally again, but it might still be an intermittent issue related to the new MEG electronics. So please be more vigilant than before and keep an eye on all tasks that use buttons. As I show during training, each session right after the start of a task that uses a different acquisition configuration, always double check that all the different types of channels are ok: MEG, EEG, HLU, buttons, stim triggers, pixel triggers, sound, etc. Because of this new issue, I recommend looking more carefully at the buttons, not just that some are coming in, but that each one you expect is showing up.
Finally, if you notice the Digital In port flickering on button presses, please let me know so I can do more tests.
